Seven Days of Mindful Walking

Join my free program and see how being mindful can make a difference to your day.

Do you ever feel you want to escape but haven’t the time or the money?

Those times when things get on top of you; when there is  too much happening; when the demands are high and when I just need to breathe.

I’m delighted to tell you that there is a way to feel better in a very short time and that’s to take a mindful walk.

‘Mindfulness’ has become a very familiar term recently with many books written on the subject as well as magazine articles abundant in most health-related publications. The concept has been around for a long time used by those of religious orders in their meditation and inspired mainly by teachings from the Eastern World, particularly from Buddhist traditions.

What this has done though is to bring ‘mindfulness’ to the attention of many and as there are so many benefits to be gotten from it, this can only be a good thing.

“Mindfulness practice means that we commit fully in each moment to be present; inviting ourselves to interface with this moment in full awareness, with the intention to embody as best we can an orientation of calmness, mindfulness, and equanimity right here and right now.” – Jon Kabat-Zinn

How this will work for you

Like walking, mindful walking can also happen from your front door; it can take place walking along the street, in the local park, by the river, in a forest and even in your workplace or office. Be creative, just find somewhere to integrate it into your everyday life.

For this challenge, you only need 15-20 minutes a day, though you can do as much as you want.

There are 7 days and you get a short video every day. The first is an overview, then days 2-6 go through a sense, a day at a time and on day 7, we pull it all together, talking about how you can continue to keep this in your life.

We would love to hear how you are getting on. You can share your experience, your photos and any questions on the ®One Million Women Walking Facebook group using the #7days. If there is something you want me to see or one of the other admins, please tag us. When you join you will also become a member of our Inner Circle where you will receive regular updates and news about One Million Women Walking.

You will experience new perspectives and much more through this.

“Doing Heather’s 7 Days to mindful walking has been a great and rewarding experience. The great thing is that you can do this walk on your own anywhere in the world! The emails and short fun videos simply helped me create the focus I needed on my short walks. I now understand what creating space is all about. Thank you, Heather, for this amazing gift!” – Maggie Sarfo, Reading

“Mindfulness is a great concept to use when walking, your senses come alive and you begin to notice your surroundings in a completely new way.  It reminds you to take nothing for granted and creates an awareness of the small and beautiful things we often miss.” – Nicola Slade, London
